They say imitation is the highest form of flattery and if that's true Britney Spears must be a huge fan of Julia Roberts'.

Having a giggle with the ever-present paparazzi at her LA home, the 26-year-old clutched a copy of Vanity Fair and mimicked the pose of its cover star Julia Roberts.

Putting a rose in mouth and pointing to the magazine, Britney showed off her sense of humour with the comical move.

The controversial star has been going from strength to strength recently in the battle to regain her status as the princess of pop and its good to see she hasn't lost her sense of humour in the process.

Spending more time with her children, who ex-husband Kevin Federline has full custody of, and getting back in shape Britney seems to be determined to turn her life around.

After recently returning from a relaxing Costa Rican vacation at Mel Gibson’s place, Britney Spears has slowly but surely been getting back into the swing of things.

Yesterday, the pop tart was spotted carrying a Christian Audigier handbag as she arrived at Bally’s Total Fitness in Studio City, California.

Seemingly not in the mood for a strenuous workout, Spears stayed inside for about ten minutes, then leaving with her bodyguard in tow.

Britney Spears got her bump and grind on at a Bally health club yesterday - but not before tossing out a room full of aerobicizers.

We're told participants in the regularly scheduled exercise class were majorly PO'd that they got the boot. Gym staff tried to console the electrolyte-heavy crew with free t-shirts and water bottles - some of which literally were thrown back at them.

TMZ spoke with Bally's Chief Marketing Officer John Wildman who admitted that booting regulars for Spears was their fault -- someone at the gym double booked the room. He tells us "it will never happen again," and says members were offered access to other programs the gym offered.

A lil random response to the video...

As jaded as I am, there are times when I actually feel sorry for Britney Spears. The cameras always following her. Jackass bloggers taking cracks at her bikini belly (here and here). It gets to you. But then I quickly snapped out of it when I came across this video on TMZ today, and she’s freaking EATING IT UP. The only way Britney’d be happier is if they were all covered in butterscotch, or, okay, let’s be realistic: threw baby back ribs at her.

Getting back to her regular Los Angeles routine following a recent Costa Rican getaway to Mel Gibson’s place, Britney Spears was spotted out for a bit of shopping at Lisa Kline on Wednesday (May 21).

The recovering pop tart scooped up a few items at the Robertson Boulevard boutique before hitting the back exit with her handlers nearby.

Meanwhile, in other Britney related new, it has been confirmed by producers J.R. Rotem and Sean Garrett that Spears is back in the recording studio working with them on some new tracks.

Tonight Britney had dinner at Il Sole with George Maloof. Rumors are that the Britney camp are discussing Britney doing a limited number of shows at the (George Maloof owned) Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. What was the dinner motives: buisness, pleasure, or both? We'll see.

Britney's Back!

Brit's plane touched down last night around 7:30 pm and she, her girlfriends (assistants?), Jason Trawick, and her dad disembarked their private jet at Burbank Airport, ending the group's Costa Rican getaway at Mel Gibson's home on the Central American Pacific coast.

Britney At The Barrigona Beach In Costa Rica

Britney accompanied by her father Jamie, assistant Brett and TV agent Jason Trawick, was back at the Barrigona beach near Mel's home in Costa Rica today.

The group arrived around noon and left in the late afternoon. Unfortunately, there were more than a dozen photographers present today than the day before. Reports say Britney ignored all press attention including paparazzi and journalists. Soak up the sun, Britney! She looks great --- so let's not dissect her body this time around. K?

We just snapped these exclusive pics of our girl Brit at a public beach in Samara, which is on the Guanacaste Peninsula on Costa Rica's pacific coast. She's currently on day two of her vacation with Mel Gibson, and it looks like she's enjoying the sun and sand and getting a killer tan.

And that's Brit's agent, Jason Trawick, with her on the ATV! Is sun and sand with your client part of the job description? Is this business or pleasure???

The beach is near Mel's $30 million cattle ranch (which also has 155 feet of beachfront), and we gotta say, we're just a little bit jealous that they didn't invite us too!
